STRUCTURAL REHABILITATION

Featured Project: Logan City Light and Power

Originally constructed in the 1920s, The structure housed six diesel turbines. In 2001, Skyline was hired by Logan City to provide design services for the structure to undergo renovation. Three of the six existing turbines were to be removed and replaced by three natural gas turbines. The existing building underwent a seismic renovation. The unreinforced masonry walls were upgraded using reinforced shotcrete. The existing wood roof system was replaced with a steel deck system. The rehabilitation has proven successful.
